William Rudebeck

William currently acts as Co-Chairman of VCP Apex. Previously, in 2009, he co-founded Venture Capital Partners, which subsequently became VCP Advisors and later, VCP Apex. William also co-founded Bite Investments in 2018 and currently acts as CEO. Previously, William spent a number of years in corporate finance and investment banking, specialising in advising and raising capital for both corporates and alternative asset managers. William previously held various positions at HSBC, Grisons Peak, and Danske Bank.

Henry Talbot-Ponsonby

Henry currently acts as Co-Chairman of VCP Apex. Previously, in 2009, he co-founded Venture Capital Partners, which subsequently became VCP Advisors and later, VCP Apex. Henry also co-founded Bite Investments in 2018 and currently acts as President of Bite. Henry also sits on the Investment Committee of Bite Asset Management. Henry began his career in law, working as a Barrister in London, before joining Grisons Peak, a financial institutions focused investment banking firm.

Julian Kurz

Julian is a Managing Director based in Hong Kong. Julian previously worked for Eaton Partners, where he was a founding member of the Asia team that built an award-winning GP advisory business. Julian spent a decade working across Eaton’s Hong Kong, New York and Shanghai offices, focusing on the origination, execution and distribution of fundraises, secondaries and strategic advisory. Julian holds a bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics.

Jay Shows 

Jay is based in New York, where he is a Managing Director. Jay has had a 20+ year career working for leading global financial institutions and he has specialized within fundraising and advisory for alternative investments. Jay began his career in alternatives at Merrill Lynch in 2000 and has since held senior project management and distribution roles at Citigroup, Matinicus, BerchWood Partners and most recently, Stratus Partners, an alternatives advisory business that he founded. Xiaotian Mao

Xiaotian is a Non-Executive Partner who has worked in both the London and Shanghai offices, returning to London in 2023. Xiaotian has worked in investment banking at Standard Bank in Hong Kong and spent a number of years in audit at PwC. Xiaotian is a Certified Public Accountant, and has an MBA from the Saïd Business School, Oxford University

Peter Hughes

Peter acts as CEO of Apex Group, having founded the company in 2003, which now is one of the world’s largest fund administrators. Under his leadership, the Apex Group has grown rapidly and today delivers a full range of services from fund administration, middle office, banking and depositary to corporate services. These services are delivered via 80 offices worldwide by over 10000 staff. Peter has over 20 years of financial services experience having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1994. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Hugo van Vredenburch

Hugo is a shareholder and advisor for VCP Apex and currently serves as Chairman of Fauna & Flora International, the world’s oldest international conservation charity. He was previously chairman of Interactive Investor and CEO of the TMF Group. Earlier in his career, Hugo was a Partner at Goldman Sachs and held a variety of roles including co-heading the equity franchise in Europe, Japan and Global COO of the equity division.

Michael Langdon

Michael is a shareholder and advisor for VCP Apex. Michael founded Rutland Partners, one of the pioneers of turnaround private equity in the UK, in 1986 after a career with Price Waterhouse where he specialised in investigative, consultancy and corporate finance work for large multinational clients. Michael is currently Rutland’s Chairman and has been central to determining both its investment strategy and its transition from a quoted industrial holding company into a UK focused mid-market private equity fund manager.
